Following up on this I've also noticed that its occurring in my config file, which is an org-mode file. Every single '#+BEGIN_SRC' seems to be faded out, and its occurring with any command that starts '#+'. As soon as you start typing '#+' the command appears faded out. And the same still applies with the zenburn theme as well.
