Yes. In fact, I have something like this half-baked, only not withing Org-mode/clocking, but in a custom format. Each N seconds, Emacs records the buffer name and mode we're in, also current X window class and name, and the current idle time. I didn't actually finish that, though. Extending/rewriting it to use clocking as you suggest shouldn't be too difficult. Best, -- Marcin Borkowski
