I haven't given LaTex a fair shot yet, but it is the next technology
on my list of "things to learn".

I love it! Check this out

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[garamond]{mathdesign}
\title{A Greeting}
\author{Peter Jones, FRS}
\begin{document}
\maketitle

Hello! How about a nice equation?

\begin{equation}
 \label{eq:1}
 \nu = \int_a^bt\times sin(x) dx
\end{equation}

Ouch, please do not forget to write \sin instead of sin, or you are writing the product of s, i, and n..... :-)
