I've had an AT Auto for several years with my K3 and Alpha 87A and after I
got used to a couple of ideosyncracies, it has worked flawlessly, and the
87A does NOT like any SWR over 2 to 1.

Hi Ken,

thank You for reply and the tip for the tuner.

Unfortunately in case of AT-AUTO 1500 ...

- inductor tended to squeal on some units
- calibration problems in many cases
- antenna mismatches although SWR 1 reported by the logic unit
- jamming the inductor coil during an attempted tune-up
- some of units does not work even new arrived from factory
- memories troubles on some units
- stepper motors and crossneedle meter are not suitable for -30C/iced wx
- more antennas switch (4-8) not presented

... it is too many reported issues for so overpriced unit.

I though about this ATU year ago but I am not able to spend so huge
amount
for some unreliable gear.

Thank You Ken for info. Congrats to Your BT1500A manual tuner which
sounds very good.
