Thanks for bringing the notion up, Phil. It seems there is a fair amount of interest in a high power 'remote' ATU as well.
If Elecraft takes up the idea of a high power (I'd enjoy a mid-power remote unit at present) ATU, it would 'seem' that the core components could be kitted in two variations. Desktop/Shack version and a Remote version. KATU-800/1500F and KATU-800/1500R... The choice of a remote or fixed ATU outside of the linears adds flexibility the the line. A lower price for an amp without an internal tuner might sell more amps as well.
