Chris,

Do you think you may have switched to another band and then back again 
before the split did the "unsplit" thing?  The default behavior of the 
K3 is to undo the split if you switch to another band even if you go 
back to the original band.  To preserve the state of the split per band, 
set Config->SPLT SV-> YES.
