Hello Everyone,A bit off topic but having a few Elecraft components (expensive) I'm wondering about insuring my equipment especially for lightning strikes. My homeowners insurance stated on the phone that I am covered, BUT when reading my policy I see no mention. Would be interested how others have been handling this.
Buy an ARRL insurance policy for all your ham equipment. <https://arrlinsurance.com/>
Even if your homeowner's insurance does cover it, there might be a large deductible; check your policy.
The ARRL policy covers any damage or loss due to theft, and the premium is very reasonable (it's based on equipment value).
last year a nearby lightning strike damaged the USB port on my K4. My insurance paid the $350 Elecraft repair cost and the ~$60 shipping both ways. There was a $50 deductible, and the agent handling the claim was competent and pleasant. Absolutely ZERO hassle through the whole process.
I can't recommend the ARRL insurance program highly enough! 73, Mike N4CF ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
