There was an article on the front page of today's Washington Post that described people going to DC being assisted with their communications by "Ham Radio Operators". There was also much footage of the incident at the Capitol of people with HTs hangin off of their belts.. Been a lot of Baofengs advertised on "prepper" sites past few years too.
