David,

I checked my Power supply and it is marked 9vdc at 800ma. Hard to know without opening one up whether a voltage regulator is used in the speaker itself. If your substitute PS is 12v output probably no harm will result. I find most of these wall cube PS rely on loading to bring them down to operating voltage.

I'm a little surprised to find it does not run on 12vdc, though. For an item clearly designed for ham radio use it would seem logical to run on 12vdc supply.

I have considered all the devices I have running on these wall cubes and wondering if might eliminate the bunch by running off the station 12v system (If they are compatible with 12v)? Certainly some of these are switchers.

Glad that the end result was favorable, considering you bought the speaker on my suggestion. I wonder if one buys direct from West Mountain whether they supply EU compatible PS cubes? My guess you got a better deal buying local vs importing from the USA.
