Aren't many repeaters collocated with other commercial equipment on those giant (1500') broadcast towers we see all over the plains? My ham buddies in NE Iowa tell me this is generally the best anyone can do, even if it costs a bit.

Seriously though, repeater activity is almost dead compared to what it once was. Here along the west coast of the USA we use a simple 1/4 wave whip for repeater connections since we are working a repeater on a mountain top in line-of-sight from the rig. The Yagi's and other gain antennas are for CW/SSB/DATA over long paths with horizontal polarization. 73 Ron AC7AC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
