Joe, Only a microphone with a 4 circuit plug can be used with the KX3, but it should be a simple matter to make up a small box which accommodates the CM500 plug as well as a switch for PTT and has a 4 circuit plug at its output. We hams can build adapters of that sort, at least this ham does!
