I have a Pro-Set mic that came with the purchase of a used K3, s/n #3012 for reference. The mic seems to be nearly dead and I wanted to make sure that I am not doing something wrong before sending it to Heil for testing and repair.
Even with the gain full up and the mic right next to my mouth I can't move the ALC but do hear my voice in the head set with monitor volume up full. I have tried it through both the front and rear mic sockets and another Heil mic works fine with the radio.
