Another point to consider is whether the outlet is on a 20A or 15A circuit. 15A is common in bedroom wall outlets, etc. If you are transmitting with the KPA500 at 500 watts and the XYL happens for turn on her vacuum cleaner (many draw 10 to 12 amps) on the same circuit, you'll probably have a sudden interruption until the breaker is reset.
Of course the same is true of many household appliances that might happen to share that circuit.
