When you power the K3 power on, you should expect to see MCU LD and the tx red LED blinking because the MCU firmware needs to be completely loaded, and you probably loaded a partial load earlier.
Just start the K3 Utility (but don't let the P3 power on) and load firmware. The k3 Utility should find the K3 in MCU LD state unless the P3 was turned on sometime after turning the K3 on.
