I've seen this problem in several cases in Lucid alphas, and it was mostly due
to KMS or plymouth, i.e. not LTSP related... can you try with the new beta 2
image?
Also, does it still happen if you replace "quiet splash" with "nomodeset" in
/var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/amd64/pxelinux.cfg/default?

Status in “ltsp” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Hi, I tested the "out of the box" version of ltsp on the daily buid verson from
08.03.10 with the 64bit alternate iso.
the ltsp image gets copiles and the PXE is working fine.
The kernel get loaded (indicatet by vmlinuz..................done) and the
initrd gets loaded (initrd....................loaded)
but then the thinclient stops working.
I tested this on the alpha2, the alpha3 and the daily build 08.03.10 with
always the same result.
The same thinclient (64bit) works fine with 8.04-64bit
