How do the EDI-L community members create Implementation Guides (we call them EDI specs)? We currently use Foresight's EDISIM software; EDISIM allows us to run through a large volume of transactions and returns the segments, elements, qualifiers, etc. in the end-product WORD document. It's a little over $3,000 per year. We'd like to know if there is a similar, cheaper software option available. We're hoping to hear what software some of the members use. Factors we're looking at are ease of use, Word/Excel compatibility, price range, advantages/disadvantages. Does it create the document by grinding through existing data and providing a final product that only needs a little tweaking before it's ready to be delivered to your trading partners? I couldn't find very many specifics in the archives; if there's something I missed I'd be glad to check it out if somebody knows where it is. Thanks and have a great weekend!
