Dear all, I am looking for elementary school or middle school teachers (ideally for kids around 10 years) in Mediterranean ecosystem regions who are interested in participating in a "Sister Ecosystem" letter/media exchange. I work with 5th grade students in Northern California, and I am planning to teach a lesson about Mediterranean ecosystems in early spring. The idea is to emphasize local ecology and then draw connections to global ecology by comparing and contrasting with other Mediterranean systems.
I would love for the students to be able to exchange letters, drawings, photos, and/or video created during the lesson with students of a similar age in a different Mediterranean region (Mediterranean Europe, South Africa, Chile, or Australia). I am looking for teachers or folks who have connections to teachers in these regions (perhaps ecologists who live or work there) to serve as our exchange partners.
