The Department of Biological Sciences at Marshall University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall 2017.
We seek a Physiologist/Aquatic Biologist with expertise in one or more of the following areas: limnology, aquatic toxicology, ichthyology, watershed ecology or other related discipline. Duties include teaching, mentoring student research, establishing an extramurally-funded research program, and participating in service activities. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance students’ critical thinking, and the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in biology or a closely-related discipline. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, experience mentoring students in research, and post-doctoral training are required. The teaching responsibility of this position will include introductory human physiology. The successful candidate must have a PhD in biology or a closely-related discipline, excellent teaching and communication skills.
