Earthwatch is an international nonprofit organization that engages people 
worldwide in scientific 
field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary 
for a sustainable 
environment. For 45 years, Earthwatch has supported rigorous scientific 
research that promotes the 
advancement of scientific knowledge that addresses global change and helps 
sustain biodiversity. 

Earthwatch is currently seeking proposals from scientists for field-based 
research that engages 
citizen scientists (recruited by Earthwatch) in projects that address key 
conservation and 
sustainability issues in the following areas: 
- Ocean Ecosystems 
- Paleobiology, Archaeology, and Geology 
- Glaciology and Polar Ecology 
- Restoration Ecology
- Sustainable Agriculture and Forest Ecosystems
- Global Conservation Priorities
- Collaborative Ecological Research Program 

In all of these areas, we are prioritizing research that helps increase 
understanding of global 
change.
