M.S. in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development (at least 2 
positions)

We are seeking  MS students (at least 2 positions) to join the vibrant 
team of freshwater ecologists at the University of Georgia in the fall 
of 2017. 

The selected candidates will pursue studies in urban freshwater ecology 
in Georgia. The work will broadly focus on understanding interactions 
between water infrastructure and community and ecosystem ecology in the 
Oconee River Watershed. The selected candidates will work actively with 
local stakeholders to prioritize research activities and to  select 
research sites.  Applicants must meet the entrance requirements for the 
Odum School (http://www.ecology.uga.edu/degreeList.php).

Additional required qualifications:
AB, BA, or BS in biology, environmental science or related field
Evidence of experience completing successful independent research 
projects
Desire to work within interdisciplinary teams
Desired qualifications:
Experience conducting research in freshwater systems, especially with 
water chemistry and/or aquatic organisms
Experience working with non-governmental organizations to address 
environmental problems
