The Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology (FWCB) at Colorado State University is seeking a Faculty Advisor, Instructor, and Academic Success Coordinator to provide quality undergraduate advising and instruction and to promote undergraduate student success. This is a full- time position.
Required Qualifications: • M.S. or M.A. completed by application date with at least one degree in fish or wildlife biology, conservation biology, ecology, or closely related natural resource or biological science field • Practical experience and demonstrated ability to advise and teach at the high school or college level Desired Qualifications: • At least two years of experience advising and teaching at the high school or college level • Keen interest in and desire to advise and mentor undergraduate students on course planning and educational and career goals in fish, wildlife, and conservation biology • Proven ability to facilitate multiple projects in a highly organized manner • Excellent skills in learning and applying technological tools in the classroom and to gather, analyze, and present student data to faculty and administration • Creativity, leadership, and ability to work with diverse groups of people • Excellent communication skills • Experience developing education, outreach, and training programs • Experience/training in conflict resolution and creative problem solving Duties: The successful candidate for this position will embrace the mission of the Department and facilitate its undergraduate programs through advising and teaching. This position will also focus on undergraduate progress and retention as part of the campus-wide network of Academic Success Coordinators.
