Hi all,
I need some advice about soil freeze-drying. I am using stable isotopes to
study ants position at food webs, and I would like to add soil data as a
baseline. I’ve freeze-dried the rest of my samples, so I’d like to do the same
thing with the soil. The thing is, that I already air-dried my sample, so when
I tried to plug them to the freeze-drier (in eppendorfs almost full of dried
soil, closed with parafilm, with a few small holes), within a few seconds lots
of dust started flying inside the freeze-drier container. I tried to read what
other people have done, but all I’ve found was simply: we dried the soil
samples, occasionally specifying whether it was an oven or a freeze-drier.
Anyways, I’d appreciate any advice!
Thanks,
Merav
