Pollinator Field Technician Position

We seek a field technician to study native bee community ecology. Our primary 
objective is to 
determine the effectiveness of pollinator habitat plantings on native bees and 
honey bees. Other 
objectives include characterizing plant-pollinator networks and quantifying 
trait matching among 
bees and plants. There will be opportunity for developing projects.

This position will primarily be fieldwork, and will involve collecting native 
bees and identifying 
plants. Our field sites are located throughout New Jersey. The successful 
applicant will also do 
lab work, especially curating insect and botanical collections and processing 
data. Our lab is 
located at Rutgers University Campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. (For an

Required Qualifications: Field experience in entomology and/or botany; data 
entry/management; 
valid drivers license and willingness to drive to field sites; experience 
working long hours in hot, 
humid conditions.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience curating insect and plant collections, and 
insect and/or 
plant identification; Personal vehicle (mileage reimbursements will be 
provided); database 
management.

Dates: Mid-May through October.

Salary: $11-15/hour
