Pikes Peak Volunteer Vacation, August 20-24 Rocky Mountain Field Institute is seeking hardworking and fun-loving volunteers for our 2014 Pikes Peak Volunteer Vacation! The Vacation is your chance to spend an extended amount of time on Pikes Peak - America's mountain while working on a high-priority restoration project. This year we will obe working in the Severy Creek Basin, a biologically diverse ecosystem highly impacted by stormwater runoff from the Pikes Peak Highway. Volunteers will help construct sediment deposition and erosion control structures, remove sediment from the wetland, and re-vegetate the area. RMFI will be supplying all meals for the trip which will be hearty, delicious, and nutritious. Days will be spent working on our restoration projects, while evenings will be set aside for mountain recreation, relaxation, and cooking up tasty dishes together.
