Invasive Non-Native Plants: Multi Scale Management and Assessment from State,
to Region, to Local, to Site.

Chair(s): Jason Giessow

Description
New work has occurred on non-native plant mapping, and risk and impact
assessment. This is occurring at multiple scales: State wide, regional and
local. What are these programs finding and how are recommendations being made
at the different scales? Two specific uses of the information will be explored:
projected impacts of climatic change and site specific control within rare
plant habitat.

Goals

a.. Share example of local invasive plant risk assessment and planning in San
Diego
b.. Share status of statewide invasive plant mapping and strategic planning
initiatives
c.. Share information on impacts in rare plant habitat
d.. Share information on climate change impacts
e.. Share updates on invasive plants of concern and management techniques

special session dedicated to posters will allow in-depth discussion between

Please adhere to the following guidelines when preparing your abstract for an
oral presentation or poster:

minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions.

● The subject matter of the presentation should have a clear

connection to native plants or natural vegetation conservation.

● The abstract of a research presentation should include specific

information about the results and conclusions of the study. Abstracts that
state "results will be discussed" will not be accepted.

● All presenters should discuss the actual or potential

conservation relevance supported by the studies, overviews or work described in
the talk or poster.

● If your abstract cannot be accommodated as an oral presentation

in the Subject Sessions due to time constraints, you will be notified as soon
as possible so that you will have ample time to prepare a poster.

ABSTRACT REVIEW PROCESS

CNPS is committed to high quality science, thus abstracts will be submitted to
a thorough review process. Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the
