Hi Everyone, I am looking for suggestions to generate plant quality data for a phloem-feeding insect. This insect feeds on several host plants and insect size varies with feeding-host. I would like to know about the quality of host plant, may be some direct or indirect measure such as carbon, nitrogen etc. I believe procedure like stylectomy or analysis of phloem exudate can generate information on plant quality. But I was looking for something more easy and crude. I would really appreciate any suggestion and your expertise.
