Jim,

It's still an interesting story to read and a cautionary tale, if 
perhaps a bit off the mark in this particular case.  

I think there might be quite a few of us Baby-Boomers who are retiring, 
well-educated and wanting to do something useful and enjoyable in the 
biological sciences.  I looking at a summer job with an environmental 
non-profit but wanting a little more field time than the job appears to 
offer.   I would be interested in hearing of others' experiences with 
post-retirement  work in this area.
