As one of the Guest Editors, it is my pleasure to invite you to submit to a Focus Issue: Our Plastic Planet: from Problems to Solutions <https://iopscience.iop.org/collections/multi-240416-01> hosted in Environmental Research Letters (ERL <https://iopscience.iop.org/journal/1748-9326>). This collection aims to bring together research to provide a comprehensive view of the multifaceted environmental interactions with plastics. Are you interested in contributing an article? - Article types: the Focus Issue welcomes research Letters, but also Perspectives, and Topical Reviews. Article requirements, including the 4,000 word limit for research Letters can be found here <https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/journals/environmental-research-letters/about-environmental-research-letters/#scope> . - Deadline for submissions: 31 January 2026. ERL publishes focus collections incrementally, with accepted articles published as soon as the peer review process is concluded, avoiding any delay to the publication of individual contributions. - Open access: ERL is a fully open access journal, so articles have outstandingly high visibility and impact, reaching a diverse audience of environmental scientists, researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and non-specialist readers. IOP Publishing is a society publisher, so all profits received go back to the IOP, a charity dedicated to funding scientific outreach and initiatives. The collection is hosted by ERL, IOP Publishing’s flagship environmental research journal. However there are six other participating journals.
