As part of an NSF AccelNet award focused on harmonizing drought data, the Global Ecosystem Research Infrastructure (GERI; https://global-ecosystem-ri.org/about/) is conducting a study to better understand the technical skills and training opportunities needed to leverage the wealth of data provided by research infrastructures and networks. Through the linked, IRB-compliant survey, we hope to identify ways to better train and prepare the next generation of scientists for cutting-edge research, representing a strategic resource for the future. We will synthesize and distribute the de-identified survey results in a publication led by early career researchers working with GERI. To accomplish this goal, we need your help!
If you are an environmental science researcher, please consider contributing to our dataset by taking this survey<https://neonscience.limequery.com/976328?lang=en>. The survey will be open until May 31st, 2025. While the survey is open to individuals at all career stages, if you are an early career researcher (within seven years of receiving your terminal degree, including those currently in degree programs) and complete the survey by March 31st, you will be offered the chance to enter a randomized drawing to attend an early career researcher workshop (which will include travel, trainings, manuscript writing, co-authorship, a data hackathon, and more) in Summer 2025 in Boulder, CO, USA. Please share broadly with your friends and colleagues, and thank you in advance!
