Postdoctoral position in Coastal Ecosystem Ecology at Florida International University, Miami, FL
The Wetland Ecosystem Research and Coastal Sustainability lab seeks a postdoctoral research associate to conduct experimental research in the Florida Everglades, beginning immediately. We seek a highly motivated candidate to: 1) lead field experiments to test nature-based resilience strategies in salinizing wetlands, 2) apply integrative field and experimental data to apply plant and/or soil mechanistic soil carbon dynamics models to project responses to sea-level rise, 3) collaborate with agency and academic scientists, and 4) lead and contribute to multiple high-impact research publications. The selected candidate will join an existing collaborative program of graduate students, faculty, and agency scientists, with a shared goal of understanding and forecasting wetland adaptive capacity, changes in carbon dynamics in coastal wetland ecosystems applying nature-based resilience strategies, and landscape-scale change.
