Tenure Track Position in Environmental Toxicology at Western Washington 
University

About the Position
Western Washington University (WWU) invites applications for a tenure-track 
assistant professor position in environmental toxicology beginning September 
15, 2025.  The Department of Environmental Sciences and College of the 
Environment are committed to WWU’s strategic goal of recruiting and retaining 
diverse faculty, and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
The successful candidate will be required to teach environmental toxicology and 
other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Successful candidates must 
be committed to quality undergraduate education and will be expected to develop 
and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students.

Required Qualifications

  *
PhD (by time of application) in environmental toxicology, biology or a related 
field.
  *
Record of high-quality scholarship in the field of environmental toxicology.
  *
Record of, or potential for, high quality, inclusive, student-centered 
undergraduate instruction.
  *
Potential for cultivating learning and working environments that are equitable 
and inclusive of people with diverse social identities and backgrounds.
  *
Commitment to establishing and sustaining a research program with meaningful 
involvement of undergraduate and M.S. students.

Preferred Qualifications

  *
Post-doctoral fellowship or additional professional experience.
  *
Potential to initiate or participate in cross-disciplinary collaborations.
  *
Potential for applied environmental toxicology, such as environmental 
management or science-policy, through their teaching and scholarship.
  *
Teaching and scholarship interests, and experience aligned with the Department 
of Environmental Sciences
