Greetings, My name is Matthew Coughlin, I currently work with Thriving Earth Exchange, an organization aimed at connecting communities with scientists in order to promote citizen science. I am part of a community science fellowship and have been tasked with finding a scientist to contribute to a project with a community located in Camp Hill, Alabama.
This community currently faces functional issues with their wastewater and drinking water infrastructure, and unfortunately the town lacks an up-to-date GIS map of these systems. In order to address the leaks in the pipes, the town is in need of a volunteer to contribute to the geospatial mapping of these systems. Here are some core details of the position: - This is a volunteer, highly part-time opportunity (max 2-3 hours a week) oriented towards scientists or individuals aiming to gain experience in environmental justice work and citizen science. - The core of this work will involve geospatial mapping. - The work will be fully remote and flexible with the candidate's schedule; this may be ideal for graduate students attempting to build a portfolio or scientists with a strong interest in citizen science. More details about the project can be found at the link below: https://thrivingearthexchange.org/project/utilizing-gis-to-restore-water-infrastructure-in-a-rural-community/ For any questions, please reach out to me at: matt.coughli...@gmail.com To unsubscribe from this list please go to https://community.esa.org/confirm/?u=RhPWqPxFwODKvbkiT32nkIqRrsiSgulp
