ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS The University of the Ozarks invites applications for a current position as a tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology beginning July 1, 2025. Candidates should have earned a Ph.D. degree in Biology or expect completion by the time of appointment. The area of specialization is open, but the successful candidate will be able to teach courses across a range of areas within biology, including microbiology, cellular and molecular biology, and/or genetics. The teaching load is 4:4, or 24 academic credit hours per academic year. Additional expectations for the role include advising students, participating in the university's shared governance, and ongoing professional development. The University of the Ozarks emphasizes personal attention and collegiality, making it important to be familiar with and understand a small, residential campus. Additionally, a genuine interest in students, strong communication skills, and alignment with the University’s mission are essential.
