Dear friends and colleagues,

Yale University will be hosting a public forum this spring entitled “Natural
Climate Solutions in agricultural landscapes: Topics in enhanced rock
weathering”. This is a free online seminar series open to the public. We are
hoping to attract a wide audience of scientists, students, industry,
government, farmers, and more who are interested in learning more about
enhanced rock weathering. Speakers and topics include:

January 24th: Modeling potential of enhanced weathering at large scales (David
Beerling, University of Sheffield)
January 27th: Pros and cons of enhanced weathering (Noah Planavsky, Yale
University)
February 3rd: Carbon dioxide removal via alkalinity enhancement (Iris Holzer,
UC Santa Barbara)
February 10th: Soil organic carbon and enhanced weathering (Noah Sokol, LLNL)
February 17th: Topic and speaker TBD
February 24th: Economics of carbon dioxide removal and enhanced weathering
(Speaker TBD)
March 3rd: The influence of soil pH, such as acidic tropical soils, on enhanced
weathering (Christina Larkin, University of Southampton/InPlanet)
March 24th: Crop yield and enhanced weathering (Fatima Haque, Flux)
March 31st: Life cycle analyses of enhanced weathering (Yuan Yao , Yale
University)
April 7th: Enhanced weathering in rangeland and dairy systems (Whendee Silver,
(UC Berkeley)
April 14th: Enhanced weathering policy (Anu Khan, Carbon Removal Standards
Initiative)

The seminar will meet weekly on Mondays from 12-1 pm ET from January 27th to
April 14th, 2025 (however, our first seminar will be held Friday January 24th).
