Dear Colleagues,

Warren Wilson College is currently hiring two Assistant Professor positions
that may interest you or someone in your network. While both positions are
listed at the Assistant Professor rank, faculty at all career levels are
encouraged to apply, particularly those with a strong record of teaching and
research.

The first position is for an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science.
Ideal candidates will be able to teach introductory environmental science and
specialty environmental science courses in the successful candidate’s area of
expertise. The faculty member in this position is also expected to advise
students in the Environmental Science major, mentor students in undergraduate
research projects, and work in close collaboration with the Center for Working
Lands team. This is a full-time, continuing faculty position on a 10-month
contract in an extended contract system. Opportunities also exist to teach in
the College's MS in Applied Climate Studies program--these are optional and
would be additionally compensated.

The second opportunity is for an Assistant Professor of Animal Nutrition, which
offers a chance to train the next generation of professionals in animal
science, with a focus on nutrition and sustainable practices. While this role
may appeal more directly to those in the animal sciences, its interdisciplinary
nature could resonate with Ecolog-L community members who engage with
agricultural systems or food sustainability. The successful candidate will join
the Department of Biology and Chemistry. This department is an
interdisciplinary and highly collaborative learning community. We graduate
leaders who think creatively and critically, and who are enthusiastic about
scientific practices. The department offers majors in Biochemistry, Biology,
and Conservation Biology, and is developing a program in Animal Science. The
successful candidate will also work in close collaboration with the Center for
Working Lands <https://www.warren-wilson.edu/about/center-working-lands/> team,
particularly through the College Farm’s livestock operation.
