We are still accepting applications for the following positions: A two-year postdoc position researching climate impacts on conifer reproduction is available at UC Merced in the Moran lab (https://sites.google.com/site/moranplantlab/ ). Our research focuses on the ecological and evolutionary responses of forests to climate change. This position will make use of the Mast Inference and Forecasting (Mastif) model<https://sites.nicholas.duke.edu/clarklab/r-packages/disperse/>, and the associated global network of forest monitoring plots<https://sites.nicholas.duke.edu/clarklab/projects/mastif-network/>. This network of research collaborations has already yielded multiple high-impact papers. Duties of the postdoc would include collection and analysis of tree fecundity data and collaborating with other team members to improve a web-based tool to share fecundity predictions with forest managers. Candidates must have completed a PhD in biology, ecology, mathematical modeling, or similar discipline, and have substantial experience with R. Other desirable but not strictly required skills include Bayesian modeling, coding for Shiny apps, and/or fieldwork experience. To apply: https://aprecruit.ucmerced.edu/JPF01828 **********
We are also hiring a one year associate specialist position (with potential for extension). Applicants for this position should have a MS degree in a related field. Duties of the associate specialist would include assisting with data collection in the field, analyzing CA tree data, participating in meetings with research teams and stakeholders and in preparation of manuscript on which they would be an author. Candidates must have experience with R.
