The Osenberg lab at UGA (https://osenberglab.ecology.uga.edu/) has an opening for a MS student interested in coral ecology to start in May or August 2025. The recruited student will be fully funded (stipend and research expenses) and will work with colleagues at UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis and the University of Kentucky on a project focused on the ecological consequences and molecular mechanisms of wound healing and regeneration in corals. Their thesis research should link to this overall project. The field and lab work will be based in Moorea, French Polynesia. The ideal applicant should have some experience with corals, coral reefs, and/or aquaculture, be (or be able to get) AAUS scuba certified, be familiar with small boat operations, and have a passion for ecological inquiry and quantitative approaches. Applicants send submit a CV and 1-page statement of research interests to osenb...@uga.edu<mailto:osenb...@uga.edu>, and apply by the graduate school application deadline of December 1, 2024 (see: https://ecology.uga.edu/academics/graduate-school/how-to-apply/).
