It was pointed some cycles ago that going with an hostile fork and making it incompatible with the existing implementation would complicate any transition and the adoption of the new stack, seems that's where we are. Speaking from a Desktop perspective that's a transition that isn't going to bring us much and that is more work than we want to sign for at the moment, especially that the new stack lacks real world usage/testing at the moment. We are going to stick to the original indicators stack for main in cosmic

[Background information] * I think we can also just MIR libayatana-appindicator3-1 reverse-depends -c main src:libappindicator -r cosmic Reverse-Depends =============== * network-manager-gnome (for libappindicator3-1) * remmina (for libappindicator3-1) * transmission-gtk (for libappindicator3-1) all the three packages are now using ayatana in -proposed pocket To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libayatana-appindicator/+bug/1770146/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages Post to : dx-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
