Thanks for sharing this GitHub ticket and great to see the changes have 
been merged! We are still however seeing an issue with filenames with 
spaces in the title. 

Here's an example of an item 
<https://scholar.google.ca/citations?view_op=view_citation&hl=en&user=zAF9iOEAAAAJ&citation_for_view=zAF9iOEAAAAJ:UeHWp8X0CEIC>
 
in Google Scholar, where the PDF no longer redirects to the respective 
DSpace repository (recently upgraded to 7.6.2). The items in question are 
bitstream URLs that have spaces in the file name, (appearing as %20.). 
Handles and other URLs, including bitstream links with no spaces in the 
file name, are redirecting correctly.

Is there a way to configure how filenames are treated or any development on 
this specific redirect issue?
