Tim Donohue reassigned DS-540:
------------------------------
Assignee: Graham Triggs
Assigning to Graham Triggs for comment, as he built the initial
"PopulateMetadataFromPubMed" patch.
Graham do you have any thoughts on maintaining/updating this patch? Or perhaps
preparing it for some sort of release in 1.7 (where it could be an optional
submission step)?
We discussed this in today's Dspace Devel Meeting:
[20:08] <tdonohue> PopulateMetadataFromPubmed patch seems incompatible with
DSpace 1.6 : http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS-540
[20:09] <richardrodgers> who did original work (patch)?
[20:09] <tdonohue> this was grahamtriggs' old patch -- it never made it into
"trunk"
[20:09] <tdonohue> graham isn't here today...though, we can always assign it to
him for feedback/updates
[20:09] <richardrodgers> Should we see if he has interest in keeping alive?
[20:10] <tdonohue> Sure. Assign DS-540 to Graham Triggs for feedback/updates.

> Project: DSpace 1.x
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: JSPUI, XMLUI
> Affects Versions: 1.5.2, 1.6.0
> Reporter: Bram Luyten (@mire)
> Assignee: Graham Triggs
> Priority: Minor
>
> Disclaimer: I didn't test/experience this myself, this issue is the report
> from a call from one of my contacts, who tried to install the patch on DSpace
> 1.6
> It seems that the very intresting PopulateMetadataFromPubmed patch doesn't
> work on DSpace 1.6. Although it works with the JSPUI, implementation of the
> patch seems to break the XMLUI submission. Unfortunately, I have no further
> information on the exact errors that get produced.
> Original patch documentation:
> From a personal point of view, it would be very interesting to have this
> functionality committed.
