PopulateMetadataFromPubmed patch seems incompatible with DSpace 1.6

Disclaimer: I didn't test/experience this myself, this issue is the report from
a call from one of my contacts, who tried to install the patch on DSpace 1.6
It seems that the very intresting PopulateMetadataFromPubmed patch doesn't work
on DSpace 1.6. Although it works with the JSPUI, implementation of the patch
seems to break the XMLUI submission. Unfortunately, I have no further
information on the exact errors that get produced.
