We're seeing this intermittently. Like MIT, we also tend to see it in the
morning, although it has happened at other times. It seems to occur about once
a week. Sometimes it affects other webapps, other times it doesn't. We
currently run tomcat directly, without apache in front.
It tends to happen after oai requests, which suggests (in our case) it might
not be an xmlui issue. We have the restriction option turned on in oia, which
does hammer DSpace / postgres a bit as it checks the authZ on every item.
