Please consider a stronger, broader statement saying that enabling it may violate user's expectations of privacy. I'm not in a position to cite chapter and voice on this now but folks curious about the practical aspects of these considerations under US law might find why many prefer POP to IMAP by looking at the recommendations by, for example, The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) at < https://ssd.eff.org/>.
