I have a Brother DCP-J562DW that has performed excellently for some years. Unfortunately, the touch screen has failed completely, which means instructions/settings cannot be entered. Repair cost quoted at £75, plus what it would cost me to get it to Cardiff, the nearest Brother support centre. I bought a replacement for not much more than that repair cost before realising: 1. connecting to it through a browser gives access to most of the operation and setting functions; 2. I have a considerable investment in the 8 ink cartridges sitting on my shelf.
Nevertheless, since I have the new one, I'm happy to pass it on to someone within the community who can live with the limitations, and I'll throw in (sob, sob) the ink cartridges that are incompatible with the new printer (of course).
