Hi,

I just noticed that you are using XFCE; I have never used that I'm afraid.

Anyway, should it be of any use, on my laptop I enabled a popup when the
capslock was pressed by accessing the system settings 'Accessibility' settings.
Within there it is possible to configure the 'lock' keys to perform certain
actions - play some speech, play a tune, show a popup, etc etc. I enabled the
popup for when the capslock key became 'active', and one for when it became
'inactive'. The popup automatically disappears from the screen after a few
seconds, but, as said before, is big enough to be noticed.

If you have some similar settings in XFCE, then they may be suitable for you,

John.
