Evening all
I am considering getting a SSD drive for my laptop. I don't want to do a complete reinstall as the current install is only a couple of months old and I have just got it where I want it. So ultimately I would like to take the existing install and put it on to the new ssd but as with most things there is a but. The ssd will be smaller than the current harddisk (current hard disk is 500gb - formating etc.) and I am looking at fitting a 250gb ssd.
So what is the best procedure the copy the existing install over the the new disk. Just for the record, there will only be one OS on the disk, it is not booting uefi , current disk has just three partitions (root, home, swap), current distro is a Debian based distro
