In the last week or so, I've been getting more and more disillusioned with
Kontact. I've had to put up with crashes, lost messages (they're not really
lost; they're still on the server, but don't get displayed) and mixed up
headers (this message is in reply to Ralph's but KMail says it's from Peter
Merchant).

I'm seriously time challenged until next week, but if things don't get fixed
I'll be moving to Thunderbird myself. The only thing that's prevented it in
the past is Thunderbird's inferior support for Aliases (it may be better now).
Also, Kontact is no longer the default Mail client in Kubuntu, Thunderbird is.
time it's the list's configuration for coping with the DMARC
configuration of your sending domain, and presumably Tim's too.
http://www.list.org/mailman-admin/sender-filters.html describes
dmarc_moderation_action that the Dorset list has set to `Munge From'.

     $ dig +short _dmarc.talktalk.net. txt
     "v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; fo=1; rua=mailto:4lqga...@ag.dmarcian.com;
         ruf=mailto:4lqga...@fr.dmarcian.com;";

Some anti-spam measures were invented without regard for a mailing
list's requirement to re-send on the email. Thus the LUG's mailman
can't impersonate you and must instead pass on your email in some other
way. https://wiki.list.org/DEV/DMARC describes why and the options.

Yes, this means Terry must check where his emails are going, but then
that's a good habit to get into on every email, and the MUA should make
it obvious and easy to edit. ;-)
It is fairly obvious; the Identity is displayed in a drop box banner across
the top of the Mail Composer. The trouble is that with this desktop computer,
the Monitor is on a shelf and that puts the banner above the eye-line, so I
frequently neglect to look up. (A feeble excuse I know, but it's the only one
that I can think of.  :-)  )

Evening all, sorry bit late to the party, new job and family keeps getting in the way.

For the record the email address I use is my own as in xendistar.co.uk is my domain and the email is simply hosted by my provider and I am using Thunderbird (52.9.1) as the client (I have two other email accounts set up in Thunderbrid). I did have the return address set  to t...@xendistar.co.uk  (not sure why and only on the xendistar account) but I simply removed it from the Thunderbird settings.

Is there any setting I need to confirm in my setup?
