You're right Sean, I blame Ralph ;-) I assume that this has something to do with the fact that they are both Long Term Support releases. Anyway, I recently upgraded my laptop via the Update Manager from 8.04 to 9.04 then to 10.04 over the space of 2 - 3 days and everything went very smoothly. The only problem I've seen is when trying to use a "Custom" Mouse Pointer in the "Clearlooks" theme desktop, I have a relatively high resolution LCD screen and I like a large black pointer, and it keeps breaking up. When this happens Firefox also goes completely doolally and text characters also "break up" and become completely unreadable :-( Reverting back to a standard pointer and rebooting the laptop recovers the situation, but I'm mildly peeved about this and probably outght to report it as a bug, I would if I could gather some more information on the cause ! Suggestions on a postcard please :-) -- Cheers Peter -- Next meeting: Crown Hotel, Blandford Forum, Tuesday 2010-11-02 20:00 Meets, Mailing list, IRC, LinkedIn, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ How to Report Bugs Effectively: http://goo.gl/4Xue
