Dave,

1) There is clear evidence that all the references to RFC 6118 I pointed out in the errata recently filed are incorrect; RFC 6118 does not even mention these labels in question. In addition, RFC 6118 has nothing to do with "transports".

2) It is also pretty obvious that the ENUM related replacement suggestions I made are the correct ones, based on the content of the RFCs. In addition, you may (or may not) want to consider that there is also a strong hint "by eminence" :-), if the author of RFC 6118, former ENUM WG chair and IESG designated expert for ENUM is suggesting it. [Errata 7064-7065]

3) I can't really tell what the "non-ENUM" related (but "transport" related) references pointed out in the errata (_tcp, _udp, _dccp, _sctp) should be replaced with. (I cannot provide any personal "eminence" :-) here.) John suggested to replace these transport related references with RFC 7553, which however only mentions "tcp" out of the four transports. [Errata 7066-7068]

Unfortunately, I completely missed the process of RFC 8552, as my focus and daily business was elsewhere during that time. I also do not recall receiving any specific request for review of its drafts. (I accidently noticed recently, that one of my RFCs - i.e. RFC 6118 - got yet another reference, which came as a surprise to me...)

cheers,
 Bernie

In any event, the underlying references make it quite clear why Bernie's fixes are the right ones.

The citation was in the table once before, during document development.  And was then changed. Across the drafts, there were /three/ different RFC numbers listed.

Absent a clear understanding of why this 'new' one was deemed wrong then, but correct now, making the change now is rather whimsical.
