I disagree with the use of depreciative words like "pseudo-TLD". A TLD
is a TLD in any case, specially if it is registered (in the USG root,
in the special domain registry of RFC 6761, etc). 

For .onion or its friends (.bit has been added to the new version of
the Internet-Draft), "non-DNS TLD" seems reasonable.
